» »Unlabelled » Don’t Collect Tithes — I’m Not Doing Church for Money” – Prophet Odumeje Declares

Nigerian prophet and controversial preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, popularly known as Odumeje – The Lion Himself, has once again stirred public reaction after boldly declaring that he doesn’t collect tithes and that money is not the reason he runs a church.

In a viral video and recent public appearances, the prophet stated:

> “I’m not doing church for money. I don’t ask my members to pay tithe. In fact, asking people to pay tithe is criminal.”

According to Odumeje, God has already blessed him and he doesn’t need to put pressure on his congregation for financial gain. He said he made a personal decision to focus on spiritual impact rather than financial benefits, even though he has the means to pursue wealth.

> “If I choose to make money, nobody can see my back… But I submitted myself for God’s work.”

This isn’t the first time Odumeje has made headlines for his unusual statements and dramatic style of preaching, but this particular confession has sparked mixed reactions online — with some applauding his stance, while others remain skeptical.

In a time where many churches are often accused of being more profit-driven than spiritual, Prophet Odumeje’s comments have reignited the conversation about tithes, church finances, and genuine service to God.
